(Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Where are you heading this weekend?

Binghamton invites you to come on downtown to this year's 50th annual July Fest and third annual Jazz Fest.

It's a downtown Binghamton arts, crafts, and music festival located on Court Street, between the Court House and Water Street.

Friday, July 6: 10 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Saturday, July 7: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Sunday, July 8: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

"I think what's really exciting is our 50th anniversary. We're celebrating the longevity of July Fest. Now adding the Binghamton Jazz festival as a major component of it has only brought the excitement and anticipation up." said Jim DiMascio, Event Coordinator.

The Binghamton High School Steel Drum Band kicked off Friday's entertainment at the Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series on the M&T Bank stage.

The 5th Annual Parlor City 5K Run is Saturday, July 7 at 9 a.m. It begins on Water Street. Following the race, there will be a free Kids Run across the Court Street Bridge.

There's also a Kidz Art Zone from noon until 5 p.m. presented by the Magic Paintbrush Project.

The Artist in Action area sponsored by Newman Development has 25 featured artists.

The annual festival is put on by the Downtown Binghamton Business Association.

"It's our 50th anniversary. The big thing is we have the UUU band coming for Friday's big concert from 6 P.M. until 11 p.m. We have even more vendors this year and our 5K is in its 5th anniversary," said Ron Sall, Downtown Binghamton Business Association.

Sall says more than 30,000 came out to last year's events and this year he expects even more.

The third annual Jazz Fest starts on Saturday, July 7 with all music genres from jazz to salsa to rhythmn and blues.
