Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The 51st Annual July Fest is announced for July 12-14, 2013; more than 40 music and craft artists are expected to attend.
The annual party downtown will include more than 10 bands.
Mayor Matthew Ryan said the festival is expanding to include a variety of musicians, not just jazz.
"It's also no longer just the jazz festival," Ryan said, "It's the music and jazz festival because we're expanding the types of music because we know there are a lot of different tastes in the community."
The festival includes an "Artists in Action" area featuring more than 30 local and visiting artists.
The Binghamton Downtown Business Association helps put on the event with a number of sponsors including M&T Bank.
President Ron Sall expressed great joy in watching the festival develop over the years.
"We're very proud of it," Sall said, "It started as a very tiny art show with a barbershop quartet right on the courthouse steps, and it's evolved."
The festival will also feature the 6th annual Parlor City 5K run.
