Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It was a busy Friday for Di Rienzo Brothers Deli & Bakery on Henry Street in Binghamton.

The deli sees heavy traffic during the Lenten period, especially on Fridays.

The family-owned deli has been open for 110 years, and is now in its third generation.

Owner Anthony Di Rienzo said he does five times the business during the seven weeks of Lent.

"We go up to 3 p.m. No problem, but after that, I tell people order it. I make enough so I try not to leave nobody out of fish ‘cause they're counting on it,” Di Rienzo said.

Connor Gates, a frequent customer, commented on the friendliness of the employees.

"I do enjoy interacting with the staff. They do remember your order and if they see you coming, they get it ready for you,” Gates said.

Di Rienzo’s goes through roughly 1,000 pounds of fish per week during the Lenten period.

The deli does the fish fry every Friday during the year, but also Wednesdays during Lent.
