Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Local celebrities serve up drinks to support a nonprofit organization.

The Southern Tier AIDS Program, or STAP, held their fifth annual Celebrity Guest Bartending Bash Sunday at Remlik's Grille & Oyster Bar.

Several local celebrities, including WBNG's Candace Chapman, volunteered an hour to try to raise as many tips as possible.

All tips plus 10 percent of the bar tab go directly to STAP, where it can be used for AIDS patients within the Southern Tier.

"It's very important. It first of all gets our name out in the community and raising these funds help us meet a lot of needs that otherwise we don't have the money to do," said STAP Director Mary Kaminsky. "So it's vital to the organization."

Kaminsky says the event raised more than $15,000 last year in just three hours and they hope to surpass that total this year.

STAP's next event will be the AIDS Walk/Run on April 21 at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex.
