Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man is arrested for drunk driving after a road sign caused his car to explode.

Anthony Santucci, 31, was arrested for DWI and other charges tonight, after crews were called to Mill Street for a car engulfed in flames in the middle of the road.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office says Santucci struck a ditch and ran over a road sign, which lodged under his car.

But he didn't stop driving.

The sign punctured the car's gas tank, and sparks from the metal sign caused the car's gas tank and rear to burst into flames.

The vehicle was also leaking gasoline, and the sparks caught the trail on fire as well, according to Broome Sheriffs.

Mill Street was blocked off for a few hours, but has since reopened.

No one was hurt in the fire.
