Village of Hobart, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Delaware County man is arrested after deputies say he vandalized a car with children inside.

They say Jason Grizzard, 29, jumped on the hood of a car and smashed the windshield in, around 1:00 p.m. Thursday on Route 10.

Three children were inside the vehicle.

Deputies say the children are not related to Grizzard.

Grizzard says his actions resulted from an altercation between his wife and another woman.

According to Grizzard, the woman, driving a 2001 Mustang, had pinned his wife against his 2012 Suzuki.

Grizzard said he then smashed the window of the Mustang to free her.

Grizzard also said he did not know there were children inside and could not see over the hood.

He is charged with criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was released on an appearance ticket.
