Man arrested for strangling woman

Oneonta, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Police arrested a man they said strangled a woman.

New York State Police responded to a dispute Saturday on Elmwood Avenue.

They said Timmie Clarkson, 28, choked a woman unconscious.

He then left the home and continued calling, threatening her.

Officials found him at a different location and searched him.

They found four lorazepam pills and one hydromorphone pill.

A judge arraigned Clarkson in the Town of Oneonta Court and sent him to the Otsego County jail on $5,000 bail.

Officials charged Clarkson with strangulation in the second degree, aggravated harassment in the second degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance and a public health law violation.
