Man charged with arson in Yale Street fire

Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) New York State Police charged a man with arson and felony possession of marijuana following a January house fire.

Thursday, troopers arrested Dustin Mangino, 21, in relation to a fire at 2705 Yale St. on Jan. 31.

They said the fire began when Mangino was cooking butane hash oil in the kitchen.

He suffered second degree burns to his hands and face.

A state police narcotics team executed a search warrant, and recovered over two pounds of marijuana.

A judge arraigned Mangino in the Town of Union court and Mangino posted bail.

He is charged with a class “D” Felony of criminal possession of marijuana 2nd degree and the class “E” felony of arson 4th degree.

The Broome County District Attorney's Office says Mangino pleaded guilty to those crimes and was given 5 years probation for the crimes.
