Man connected to 2012 homicide arrested

Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A domestic incident turns into a search by police, and ends with the arrest of a man wanted in connection to a homicide last year in Johnson City.

Endicott police took Devon M. Carty, 22, of Brooklyn, into custody after a domestic dispute at 12 Jefferson Ave. in Endicott.

Carty is accused of throwing a chunk of concrete through a glass window, injuring a man inside the home.

According to police, Carty broke free of officers while being escorted to the patrol car.

A police K-9 tracked Carty to 308 Grant Ave., where he was spotted on the roof of the garage apartment.

He was taken back into custody from the third-floor back porch of a neighboring home.

Carty was charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, reckless endangerment in the second degree and assault in the first degree, all class A misdemeanors.

Carty was wanted on a felony warrant for criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree related to a homicide in April 2012.
