Motorcyclist dies after colliding with car

Cameron, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A 21-year-old man is dead after he was thrown from his motorcycle.

Shawn M. Smith, 21, of Cameron, N.Y., died from injuries he sustained in a crash Saturday at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.

The Chemung County Sheriff's Office says Smith was traveling on State Route 328 on his Harley Davidson motorcycle when he collided with a Volkswagon Beetle making a left turn.

Smith was thrown from his motorcycle and suffered severe injuries.

The driver of the car, Benjamim C. Robbins, 19, of Troy, Pa., was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The Chemung County Sheriff's Office says alcohol is not considered to be a factor.

The investigation is ongoing.
