Man dies while trying to help at a crash scene

Salem Township, PA (WBNG Binghamton) A man dies while trying to help someone involved in a car crash.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Daniel Lomax, 55, Factoryville, Pa., stopped his car when he came upon a single motor vehicle crash.

It was on Sawmill Road in Wayne County's Salem Township early Saturday morning.

When Lomax got out of his vehicle to help, he came into contact with a live downed power line and died.

Hamlin Fire and Rescue, Hamlin Rescue, Pennsylvania State Police and Wayne County deputy coroners were on scene.

The investigation into the car crash is ongoing.
