Missing decorations in downtown Binghamton

Binghamton, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) If you've been down the Main Street-Court Street corridor lately, you might have noticed fewer holiday lights this month.

The Binghamton Mayor's Office said there is a circuit issue keeping Court Street dark this year, causing complications with outlets on the light poles and with the street lights themselves.

Public Works is supposed to be fixing the problem.

The Mayor's Office released a statement saying, "We felt only putting up lights on some poles and not other would make everything look tacky and unfinished, not what our downtown deserves."

Although downtown Binghamton may be a little less bright for the time being, there are still holiday decorations in the city.

New holiday flags will decorate the Court Street corridor and, for the first time, the Rec Park Carousel is decorated and open for the holiday season.
