Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) As the rain continues to fall, basements well up with water throughout the Twin Tiers.

In Vestal, some neighbors on Imperial Woods Dr. say the water in their basement measures about 3-feet high.

They say they haven't seen anything like it since the floods of 2006, and that some of the of the water is coming in from the sewer and even shooting up through the toilets

Right now, neighbors say attempts to pump out the water is an uphill battle.

"We're still looking for the water department to come out here and see if they can help us out and pump some of this out... The water's coming through the toilet faster than 4,000 gallons an hour... I mean we're losing ground, about an inch every twenty-five minutes," says Vincent Coiro.

Coiro says his basement is destroyed, as well as a $10,000 couch.
He says they will have to wait until its finished raining to completely assess the damage.
