Town of Chenango, NY (WBNG-Binghamton) The town of Chenango will now have to decide what to do with $3 million.

A public meeting was held Wednesday night to discuss money the town will be receiving through the New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program.

The program was established to provide rebuilding and reconstruction assistance to areas severely damaged by Hurricanes Sandy and Irene, Tropical Storm Lee or severe flooding.

Leaders of the committee in Chenango say they want to make sure that what they do with the money is in the best interest of the public.

"We have made no decisions. It is a community meeting and we want to hear from the people and what they issues are that they are most interested in," said Margaret Turna, chairwoman of the Chenango Committee

Details on how the money will be used will be made in the future.
