Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) All the hair growth and guests we've welcomed into the WBNG studios led up to this moment--the American Cancer Society phone-a-thon.
In our atrium, volunteers were busy taking your calls to help raise money for Prostate Cancer Research as we celebrated the end to No Shave November.
Close to $3,000 were raised.
This money will go to support a multitude of efforts dealing with prostate cancer.
"They've done a lot of work in early detection; they're doing a lot and taking a look at the difference between aggressive and non-aggressive cancers. There's an awful lot of work in bio markers, genetics, DNA, proteins. You name it, they're looking at it and they are looking very deep," said ACS Community Mission Manager Pete Andreasen.
