Norwich police seize $5K in heroin, two arrested

Norwich, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Police seized more than $5,000 worth of heroin in Norwich Wednesday night and arrested two people.

According to Norwich Police, John Zangari, 51, and Lynn Minck, 44, both of Norwich, were arrested Wednesday for bringing what police described as a "large quantity" of bundled heroin into the city of Norwich.

Police said they found heroin in the couple's vehicle when they stopped them at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Officers then searched the couple's apartment at 28 Fair St.

Norwich Police Chief Joseph Angelino said the arrest comes after several weeks of investigating alongside the Chenango County Sheriff's Office.

As of late Wednesday evening, both Zangari and Minck were still being processed at the Norwich Police Department.

Charges:

John A. Zangari

- Criminal possession of a controlled substance, 3rd degree (with intent to sell), a class B felony
- Criminal nuisance, 1st degree, class E felony

Lynn M. Minck

- Criminal possession of a controlled substance, 3rd degree (with intent to sell), a class B felony
- Criminal nuisance, 1st degree, class E felony
