Pair of Binghamton men arrested in connection with grand larceny investigation

(WBNG Binghamton) According to a news release issued Friday, the Broome County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 30-year-old Michael D. Bill of Binghamton and 33-year-old Jamison Turkow of Binghamton in connection with a grand larceny investigation.

According to the news release from the Broome County Sheriff's Office:

Turkow is accused of stealing over $1000 in jewelry from a Town of Union resident. Turkow then  allegedly gave the stolen property to Bill to pawn for cash.  Bill was taken into custody on August 27, 2013 and released pending further court action.

Turkow who also had a New York State Parole warrant was allegedly hiding with several friends in the Broome County area attempting to evade police. Members of the United States Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force took Turkow into custody Thursday evening at a West End Avenue City of Binghamton residence where he was hiding. 

Turkow was taken to the Broome County Sheriffs Correctional Facility where he is being held awaiting court action.

Charges:

Bill: Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, a misdemeanor
             
Turkow: Grand Larceny, a 4th degree a felony, and a New York State Parole warrant.
