(WBNG Binghamton) A prostitution sting and monthlong investigation involving Broome County call girls nets two local women.

Members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit arrested Ashley M. Taro, 25, of Binghamton, on sex and drug charges after they say she offered sex for money.

Authorities say she was also found to be in possession of heroin, hypodermic needles and a small amount of marijuana.

Taro faces charges of prostitution, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Also arrested today was Alyssa R. Ambrosino, 21, of Endicott.

Ambrosino was charged with prostitution, which is a misdemeanor, although authorities said it's not her first prostitution-related offense.

While Ambrosino was released on an appearance ticket, Taro was taken to the Binghamton City jail on an outstanding warrant.

Members of law enforcement posed as men looking for sex. There were no other arrests.
