Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) One group wasn't at Wal Mart to shop, they were there to protest.

Members of Citizen Action of New York and Broome-Tioga Federation of Labor brought signs to Wal Mart instead of their wallets.

They were participating in a nation wide protest of Wal Mart, on the biggest shopping day of the year.

President of Broome-Tioga Federation of Labor, Lee Conrad, said that the protest is bigger than Black Friday. Conrad said, "It's about having a voice in the work place. It's about respect and dignity for Wal Mart workers. You know, it's time for Wal Mart management to listen to their workers. Across the country workers are speaking out about the conditions."

Conrad hopes these protests will make Wal Mart management pay attention.

No Wal Mart workers were at the protest Friday. Conrad said its because a lot of people are afraid to walk out on their company.
