Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It's the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.
People around the world and country and right here in the Twin Tiers are remembering the tragedy.
Tuesday morning, Flags were raised to just half-staff at City Hall in downtown Binghamton. Local leaders along with the community gathered at the September 11 memorial.
"This day should not ever be forgotten. And we cannot let the memories of those who have perished both on this day, and the rest of the workers on the days following, after this event. It's important that we come together every September eleventh, to remember those sacrifices that were made," said Broome County Legislature, Chair, Jerry Marinich (R).
During the Ceremony there was a moment of silence and a singing of "God Bless America" by the Seton Catholic Select Chorus.
