Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Tensions rose Thursday between the two candidates for mayor in Binghamton.

Democratic candidate Teri Rennia accused Republican candidate Rich David of intentionally misleading the public

Rich David recently sent out a flier about NYSEG's tree trimming.

Rennia said David accused her of not taking any action in addressing the concerns that circled around around the tree trimming program.

"I've done more since I've been on City Council in terms of working with the administration and the current council to regain out Tree City USA designation," said Rennia. "We've received numerous awards for the number of trees that have been planted. We've planted over 100 trees this year.'

Rennia said after a tree fell on a home, she called Mayor Matthew Ryan advising that a city arborist go around the city with the tree trimming crews.

Rich David said there's a difference between not liking something and it being inaccurate. He said his flier is accurate.
