Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Rescue Mission organizers are raising money for Whitney Place, a supportive residence for homeless men in Binghamton.

For the third consecutive year, WBNG-TV hosted a phonebank for the cause.

Whitney place opened two years ago with a goal of helping residents become independent and productive community members.

"We actually have three residents at Whitney Place that are working full time, two in particular who have been working full time successfully for over a year," said Whitney Place Program Director Rebecca Rathmell.

A total of $840 was donated Monday evening through your generosity.

While that figure is down compared to past years, there is still a chance to donate through their website, along with opportunities for volunteering.
