Reward for Information on Suspicious Oneonta Fires

Oneonta, NY (WBNG Binghamton) At least three structure fires, one dumpster fire, and signs three other fires were attempted -- all over the weekend in Oneonta. Investigators believe all were intentionally set, and are offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.

The Oneonta Fire Department is working with local, state, and county investigators to apprehend who may be responsible.

Investigators believe the fires are connected.

The first was Friday afternoon on Eighth Street. Homes, a business, and a vacant building fell to firebugs.

There were also two smaller fires considered suspicious.

On Sunday night, the fire department responded to a dumpster fire in the city.

The Oneonta Common Council and the mayor's office are offering a $5,000 reward for information which could lead to an arrest.
