Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The water has somewhat receded in the West Corners area, but the damage and devastation remain.

At the intersection of Day Hollow Road and Route 26, National Guard Troops join local police forces to assess damage, and detour traffic.

Route 26 beyond Weis Markets remains accessible to emergency vehicles only.

Members of the West Corners Fire Department say they've executed more than 200 boat rescues in the past 48 hours.

Those rescues came after crews warned people to evacuate just hours before the water rose to dangerous levels.

One homeowner measured a water level of 61 inches had risen in his home on Princeton Street in West Corners

On Glendale Drive, families cleared out flooded basements, garages, and even the first floors of homes.

Glendale Park is still mostly known now as "Glendale Lake."

Even though the water is gone, most roads are now covered in dust and mud, making travel still very difficult.
