It was not only a time of mourning, but also a celebration of Eric's life.

The pastor hoped it would bring comfort to those grieving.

"God promises to be near to us when we're broken hearted and I think He's never closer to us than in our times of pain and loss and heartache, and so I expect God to come along side this family and offer them comfort and hope today," said Pastor Brandon Samuel.

Dantzler loved music, to skateboard, draw, and dress to impress.

Friends say he was a mentor and encouragement to others.
