Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The sentencing of a murder suspect who opted for a plea deal was pushed back Tuesday.

Ashley Carnevale, 23, appeared Tuesday in Broome County Court for sentencing, but that was pushed back to August.

She and her husband were involved in a home invasion and shooting at a home in Windsor in 2009. Jean Clark died in that incident and another man was seriously wounded.

Carnevale won an appeal and new trial because of problems with the police interrogation and ineffective counsel. Instead, she pleaded guilty in May to manslaughter and assault in a plea deal for a shorter prison sentence.

On Tuesday, her assault charge was reduced to attempted assault.

Her husband, Anthony Carnevale, is serving 25 years to life for murder.

Carnevale is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 13.
