Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Sheriff's Office continues to search for the man wanted in connection to Friday's double homicide, according to a news release Monday afternoon.
Deputies found Christina Powell, 35, and Mario Masciarelli, 24, of Binghamton, dead Friday morning inside a home at 4185 Lisi Lane in the town of Binghamton.
Autopsies of Christina Powell and Masciarelli were completed over the weekend.
Their deaths were ruled homicides, according to the Onondaga Medical Examiner. No other information about their deaths -- from the autopsies -- will be released, per a request by the Broome County District Attorney.
However, Sheriff David Harder said Saturday Christina Powell was strangled and Masciarelli was hit over the head by a blunt object.
Their bodies have been released to their families.
The sheriff’s office is still searching for Aaron Powell, 39, who is described as a person of interest in the case. The sheriff's office has stopped short of naming Powell as the suspect in the killings.
Powell is believed to be driving a 2007 black GMC Yukon Denali with New York State license plate number GDU-3346.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Powell are asked to call the Broome County Sheriff's Office at (607) 778-1911 or their tip line at (607) 778-1196. Any information provided will be kept confidential.
