Speedway owner charged for fraudulent practices

Town of Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The owner of the Champion Speedway faces several charges related to doing bad business here in the Southern Tier.

Jason M. Bonsignore, 37, of Rochester, was arrested Thursday following an investigation by the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with the New York State Workers' Compensation Board Office of the Fraud Inspector General.

He is charged with 26 counts of offering a false instrument for filing, a class E felony, along with four counts of failure to secure compensation for employees and four counts of fraudulent practice.

Bonsignore was arraigned in Owego Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court Sept. 15.
