Great Bend, PA (WBNG Binghamton) Pennsylvania State Police are warning residents of a scam that may be in their mailbox.

State police say residents in Great Bend Township in Susquehanna County have received letters for a scam.

They say the letter congratulates the resident for winning a consumer drawing from stores in the U.S. and the United Kingdom, with a check for $2,850.

The letter also states that because the drawing was in the United Kingdom, $1,920 needs to be sent back to the country for taxes, in the form of a moneygram or Western Union.

Troopers say to not cash the check or send them any money.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police in Gibson at (570) 465-3154.
