Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Vestal students learn there are many ways to help out their community, if they want.

22 organizations set up tables at the high school hoping to inspire a few to give some of their time for something good.

Service organizations including the American Cancer Society and Habitat for Humanity were there.

Educational centers including the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park and the Kopernik Observatory also had tables.

Students were excited to volunteer.

"Volunteering makes you become part of the community," said junior Jessica Juozitis, "And just makes you feel good about yourself."

"You can get a taste of what you may want to do later in life," said junior Kyle Garner, "Help out younger kids, help out autistic kids, get some good experiences too."

The fair was a culmination of a program to teach students about personal responsibility and service to their community.
