Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Otsiningo Park will be packed for a weekend of food and festivities, but it's not the only part of the Binghamton area that will experience some crowding.
The New York State Department of Transportation has been working with Spiedie Fest Coordinators to keep traffic flowing.
Interstate 81 and Route 17 will both have two lanes of traffic open going both ways in the construction zone. Also Front St., will have one lane of traffic going in each direction in the construction zone under the bridges.
The on-ramp to Interstate 81 northbound at exit 5 will be closed at noon Friday until 11 a.m. Monday.
"It's important that you concentrate on your driving and don't pay attention to the balloons going up. Make sure you're concentrating on the traffic that is here. There's going to be a lot more traffic and it will be slowed down," said DOT public information officer Dave Hamburg.
Crews are working to widen lanes on Front Street closest to Prospect Street near the traffic light.
The Spiedie Fest runs Friday through Sunday.
Organizers say they're expecting record breaking numbers this year.
