Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Members of the audience of this weekend's performances at the Goodwill Theatre just might become part of the show.
The DuffleBag Theatre is in town from Canada. It is an interactive, improvisational comedy group.
The actors perform classic stories and fairy tales with a focus on involving the audience.
"We get to pull audience actors up to play the main parts," said Marcus Lundgren, artistic director of the DuffleBag Theatre. "We give them costumes, they don't have any rehearsal, so there's a lot of spontaneity and improvisation for the show as well."
The DuffleBag Theatre will be performing Shakespeare's "Macbeth" at 7 p.m. Friday, March 22. The group will then perform "Peter Pan" on Saturday, March 23, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. All of the shows are at The Schorr Family Firehouse Stage.
Lundgren said anyone who likes to laugh can appreciate the DuffleBag Theatre's performances.
"There's enough for everybody from all ages," he said. "We sort of say that from three to 103 is the age range for our show."
This is the DuffleBag Theatre's second visit to Johnson City.
The group has 600 performances a year across the world.
