Travel Advisory: Prospect Mountain work to affect Binghamton streets Oct. 14-18

Motorists are advised that Prospect Mountain drainage work will be performed on Prospect Street between the Prospect Connector area and Brownell Avenue on Monday, October 14, and Tuesday, October 15 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. 

According to a news release:

Flag personnel will guide alternating, single lane traffic through the work zone. This work is weather dependent.

Work on the following Binghamton City streets will be performed between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily from Monday, October 14, to Friday, October 18, weather permitting. 

Chenango Street will experience alternating lane closures between Moffatt Avenue and Sturges Street.  Crews will be removing the existing substructures of the Interstate 81 southbound/State Route 17 eastbound Bridge over Chenango Street.  Flag personnel will be on site to guide alternating traffic through the work zone.

Mygatt Street will experience periodic, alternating lane closures between Prospect Street and LaGrange Street.  Crews will be performing superstructure work for the State Route 17 westbound bridge over Mygatt Street.  Flag personnel will be on site to guide one-way alternating traffic between Prospect Street and LaGrange. Expect delays.

Front Street between Valley Street and Bevier Street will have periodic, alternating lane closures to continue the construction of the new State Route 17 eastbound and westbound bridges over the Chenango River.  Drainage work will also be performed on Front Street.  Flag personnel will guide single lane traffic through the work zone.
