Two Killed in Towanda Car Crash

Towanda Twp., PA (WBNG Binghamton) Two people are dead and a juvenile is clinging to life after a head-on crash Tuesday morning.

The crash happened just after 10:20 a.m. at the intersection of state Route 220 and state Route 6 in Towanda Township.

The Bradford County coroner says 44-year-old Scott R Halboerster, from Dushore was trying to pass a car in a no passing zone along southbound Route 220 when he collided head-on with another vehicle traveling the other way.

Both Halboerster and the other driver, 65-year-old John E. Ambrosone, were killed.

Halboerster was traveling with his young daughter.

She was taken by medical helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center where she remains in critical condition.

Toxicology tests are pending on both men.

The crash remains under investigation.
