Tyre, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The fight for a casino in the Southern Tier of the New York just got more competitive.

Thomas Wilmost Sr. made the announcement Thursday for a proposed casino in Tyre, a town in Seneca County.

Wilmot, Sr., a chairman of the Rochester based real estate company, "Wilmoritre" laid out the details.

The project would cost roughly $350 million to complete and create an estimated 1,800 permanent and 1,200 construction jobs.

"Wilmot Seneca County Casino" would also feature a hotel, spa, dinning and entertainment.

Tyre is in the heart of the finger lakes region, but is in the same zone as the Town of Union and Nichols, where other bids for casinos have been placed.

Four casino licenses are up for grabs in upstate New York.
