Tyler Warner, 20, died after being stabbed on Mead Street.

Walton Police have arrested Lejuan Wainwright, 20, formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida. Wainwright is charged with second degree murder. He was taken into custody Saturday night.

Action News talked to friends of the victim, Warner, on Sunday.

The stabbing happened on Mead Street around 10 P.M. Saturday. Police say it happened after a verbal argument.

Action News Reporter Brandi Devine talked to a friend of Warner's, who says Warner was having a bad night when he arrived at his house last night.

"He was arguing with everybody and it went from good to bad really quickly. He didn't deserve what he got," says friend, Frank Mastrorocco.

Mastrorocco says he heard screaming and ran down the steps to see Warner. He says Warner had been stabbed in the chest.

Police and ambulances all responded to the home.

Wainwright was arraigned on the second degree murder charge and sent to the Delaware County Jail without bail.

Wainwright is expected to be in Village of Walton court for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, August 24.

Walton Police say the investigation continues. New York State Police and the Delaware County Sheriff's Department are assisting in the investigation.
