Norwich, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It could be September before the man convicted for the third time for killing his wife learns his fate.

Peter Wlasiuk will undergo a criminal and psychological evaluation before he's sentenced.

The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation report to look into Wlasiuk's background to help determine the best sentence.

The Chenango County Court says this can take anywhere from eight to ten weeks, and then sentencing will be scheduled.

On Tuesday, a jury found Wlasiuk guilty of second degree murder.

He was convicted for killing his wife, Patricia, in 2002.

This was the third murder trial for Wlasiuk.

Two prior convictions were thrown out on appeal.

There is still no information on whether the defense will appeal the guilty verdict.

Once Wlasiuk is sentenced, the defense will have 30 days to appeal.

Action News reached out to Wlasiuk's lawyer for comment but have not received a response.
