Rachael Hidalgo joined WBNG-TV Action News in May 2009 as a Multi-Media Journalist.

As someone who's always had a passion for news, she started out early in the business. Her very first job in middle school was delivering newspapers throughout her neighborhood on her bike, even in rain and snow. Rachael graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University in Pennsylvania in 2009. She received her degree in Communications with a Minor in History. She started freelance writing and photography for her hometown newspaper called the Advance of Bucks County. Later, she wrote and edited articles as a Food Editor for CampusPhilly.com, and was also a Copy Editor for the Temple News.

Then Rachael entered the arena of television reporting. Whether on the sidelines reporting live for Temple Basketball games on OwlAccess.com, or anchoring for the student-run television station Temple Update, she loved every minute of it. Throughout college she wrote, reported and anchored for Temple Update. After completing her internship at NBC10 in Philadelphia, she later worked for the station in the Promotions Department. While there, she helped research stories and promote the station in the city of brotherly love by taking event photos for NBCPhiladelphia.com.
Rachael was President of Temple's Radio Television News Directors Association (T-RTNDA), and Fundraising Chair for the Society of Professional Journalists. She was also a member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

One of her favorite memories is the summer she spent abroad in London studying Journalism from a different perspective.

Rachael enjoys running, tennis and skiing, and says she can't wait to hit the slopes in the winter season.
