Jon Bruce has always been fascinated by two things; television news and sports.

Growing up in Boston MA, (yes he is a Red Sox fan) Jon quickly realized that he wanted a career in broadcast television.



After a few stops, Jon landed at the University of Miami (FLA) where worked at UMTV, the campus television station, as a sports anchor and reporter. During his time at the “U”, Jon interviewed many great sports figures like Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, and many past, present, and future NFL stars.



Jon interned in the sports departments at WBZ-TV in Boston and WSVN in Miami, Florida. After a brief stint at WKAG in Hopkinsville Kentucky, Jon made the switch to news and joins the WBNG team as the Action News this Morning Anchor and general assignment reporter. He is thrilled to be working in the tri-cities area and in the field that he loves.
