(WBNG Binghamton) According to a news release from the Binghamton Police Department, a 49-year-old Vestal woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with grand larceny and forgery for allegedly stealing wallets from shoppers at area grocery stores earlier this month and using stolen credit cards.

On May 21, 2013, the Binghamton Detective Bureau released surveillance photos depicting a white female who is suspected of stealing customer’s wallets and then using the stolen credit cards.
The thefts occurred on May 9, 2013 while the customers were shopping at area grocery stores. After the surveillance photos were aired, Detectives received a tip that the female depicted is Elizabeth A. Dellapenta.
On May 22, 2013, Detectives followed up on the tip and as a result of the investigation, Dellapenta was charged with two counts of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree a Class E Felony and one count of Forgery in the Second Degree a Class D Felony. Dellapenta was arraigned in City Court and released.
