(WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Young Democrats will host a "Meet the Candidates" event on Tuesday, October 23rd at 6:30pm at Broome County Democratic Headquarters.

According to a news release:

Democratic candidates for office have been invited to come speak at the event, about their visions for the future, as well as issues that affect the youth of the area. The Broome County Young Democrats are inviting hundreds of young people from across the county to participate in the event, meet the candidates, and ask them questions of them.

In addition to partaking in the event itself, attendees and registered Democrats between the age of 18 and 34 will receive a free on-year membership to the Broome County Young Democrats.  Ryan Reynolds, President of the Broome County Young Democrats said that "The focus of our organization is to engage the young people of Broome County and get them involved in the political process. That means getting them out to vote, working for campaigns, speaking their minds and lending their ideas to government and even running for office themselves. This event is a great opportunity for young people to get involved and make a difference in the future of  our towns, villages, cities,
county, state and country."

The event is completely free of charge and open to any registered Democrats between the age of 18 and 36.
