Watkins Glen, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) -- Village Christmas -- an evening full of activities, food and crafts -- will be held on Friday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. on Franklin Street in Watkins Glen.
There will be live entertainment sponsored by Captain Bill’s, Jerlando’s Ristorante and Ultimate Sound throughout the evening at Learn Motors on Franklin Street. Included in the mix will be musical groups from the Watkins Glen School and Freedom Village. The Lake Country Players will present Holiday Improv in the Village Hall. This will run throughout the evening.
One of the highlights of the evening will be the Visions of Sugar Plums Christmas Parade sponsored by Visions Federal Credit Union. Commencing at 6:30 p.m. from Specchio Ford and following Franklin Street north to 1st Street, the parade will be where Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their entrance to the street festival. The parade will also be judged by a panel who will give awards for “Judges’ Choice”, “Most Christmas Spirit”, “Most Decorated” and “Best Decorated Fire Truck.”
Santa and Mrs. Claus will then be at the Seneca Lake General Store to greet all the children at the festival following the parade. Santa’s Reindeer sponsored by Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards will be on 3rd Street.
Santa’s elves, Kathie and Mickey, will be back this year personalizing Christmas ornaments at Cabins to Castles Real Estate. Make sure you stop by and purchase one for your children and grandchildren.
The Winter Wonderland fireworks display, sponsored by Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel, will be held over Seneca Harbor Park at 7:30 pm. (Weather permitting)
