Around the Tiers: Slavic immigration to Binghamton

(WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Historical Society will welcome speaker, Father James Dutko to discuss historic and ethnic roots reaching back to Slavic immigrants.

According to Linda Biemer of the historical society, the event will take place at the Broome County Public Library Decker Room on Jan. 15, starting at 6:45 p.m. Light refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Father James Dutko is a paster of St. Michael's Church in Binghamton since 1991. He will discuss why immigrants came to Binghamton, how it was possible for them to immigrate, what life was like for the new arrivals, among other topics.

All are invited to attend the free meeting.
