Around the Tiers: "Ability Awareness Night"

(WBNG Binghamton) Broome-Tioga BOCES is teaming up with other local agencies for Ability Awareness Night.

The Broome County People with Developmental Disabilities Committee subcommittee of the Broome County Mental Health Department's Community Services Board, the Broome-Tioga DisAbility Awareness Committee, and BOCES are teaming up to hold an event at BOCES celebrating the students' transition from school.

John Robinson will be the featured speaker for the event, which will be held at Broome-Tioga BOCES, 435 Glenwood Road, Binghamton, NY, in the gymnasium, on November 7, 2013 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.

John Robinson is a motivational/inspirational speaker. John Robinson was born a congenital amputee, and he is the subject of a national documentary shown on Public Broadcasting Stations titled Get Off Your Knees: The John Robinson Story. He also authored the autobiography Get Off Your Knees: A Story of Faith, Courage, and Determination published by Syracuse University Press. In the past two years, he has traveled from Australia to the White House sharing his inspirational message about overcoming life's obstacles. His audience has included high school students as well as Fortune 500 Corporations.
