De Falco released this statement:
"The Binghamton AllSiders Reunion was created as a way to honor the memory of friends who have passed away while reconnecting with old friends still living. Founder Dean De Falco was inspired to create a Binghamton, New York Southsiders reunion following the funeral of a longtime friend and fellow Southsider. The founding members soon modified the first reunion in 2011 to include friends from all sides of Binghamton thereby changing the name from Southsiders to AllSiders and creating the first Binghamton AllSiders Reunion.
The annual AllSiders Reunion welcomes anyone who grew up in, currently lives in, or
moved away from Binghamton, NY. It is an event for anyone who wants to reconnect with old friends and foster new friendships. This reunion has grown to become a premier venue which showcases great local bands of all musical genres. These bands typically donate their time and talents, their only reward are an appreciative audience and a great meal. The Reunion is attended annually by 250 to 300 people. There is no admission, but attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass, a lawn chair and whatever they are drinking. Every year Best Western Meats, Weis Markets, The Binghamton Mets and many other local area businesses donate food, goods and prizes for this event.
The AllSiders Reunion is a grassroots organization that strives to benefit the community. The committee responded immediately in the wake of the 2011 flood to aid fellow AllSiders who suffered flood damage to their homes. They also donated food and clothing to aid the recovery effort. Prior to the 2012 reunion, the committee helped many people in need with donations of food, clothing, furniture, and household items. The Reunion in July then raised $1000 which was donated to the Broome County United Way to be used to aid victims of the 2011 Flood. The Reunion seeks to be the premier annual July event for the City of Binghamton. The AllSiders Reunion will continue to evolve and define itself in the manner that best serves its participants and the Greater Binghamton Area."
