(WBNG Binghamton) Linda Quinn, registered dietitian, shares different ways to incorporate apples into your meals.

March is National Nutrition Month and the message is "Enjoy the Taste of Eating Right". The number one way to eat right is to eat more fruits and vegetables.

This is a good message for New York apples because families already enjoy apples, according to Quinn.

A 2010 survey by Produce for Better Health Foundation with Generation X Moms, they found that among the top 10 favorite family fruits, apples were number 1!

Although Americans claim to "like" fruits and vegetables, they are still not eating enough.

According to the 2013 Center for Disease Control and Prevention Data, the average America only eats 1.1 servings of fruit and 1.6 servings of vegetables a day. This is far below the 9 servings of fruit and vegetables that are recommended.
