(WBNG Binghamton) A day of bike riding, family fun and live music is coming soon, all stemming from an event to honor a woman who tragically lost her life. Bree Schmidt, Aime Dixon and Yvonne Newell came by to talk more about The Dottie Rice Ride for Christ.

The event was birthed from last year's Ride of Silence Honoring Dottie Rice out of Rec Park.

This year's event is happening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17 at Chenango Valley State Park.
Organizers aim to carry on Aunt Dottie's mission to see her community come closer to the faith that changed her life over 30 years ago.

This year's event brings area churches, bike clubs and youth groups together for a day of bike riding, family fun and live music and is free to the public.
