(WBNG Binghamton) Action for Older Persons will begin scheduling appointments on September 29 for Medicare open enrollment.
Medicare beneficiaries can enroll between October 15 and December 7 at the AOP office, located at 32 W. State St. in Binghamton.
They may also change their Medicare advantage and Medicare prescription drug plans.
Seniors will often save thousands in prescription and medical costs by coming to AOP to review their coverage.
In the coming months, seniors will be sent information regarding plan changes, and it is suggested to review this information if they do not plan to come to AOP for an appointment.
AOP will also host seminars talking about the changes to original medicare, as well as retiree benefits.
Action for Older Persons is also hosting their first annual golf tournament as a fundraiser for the organization.
A four-person team is $80. First place gets $400, and if someone gets a hole-in-one, they will win a car.
