(WBNG Binghamton) SUNY Broome faculty and staff are putting their fears behind them, and are skydiving to inspire students.
The event is called "Skydiving from the Highest for Higher Ed"
8 members of the college will visit the New York Finger Lakes on Saturday, September 28 to skydive.
The dive is to demonstrate how professors can step out of their comfort zones, and to encourage students to do the same in college and during their ordinary lives.
The jump will be taped, and posted on SUNY Broome's website.
Faculty and staff have also done similar events such as "Hiking from the Highest for Higher Ed."
Last year, SUNY Broome employees climbed Mt. Marcy. This year, they are tackling an even steeper mountain, the Algonquin Peak, which is the second highest mountain in New York.
