Around the Tiers: Upcoming events at Corning Museum of Glass

Corning, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Corning Museum of Glass is hosting numerous activities for the holidays.

Eric Goldschmidt, flameworker at The Corning Museum of Glass, joined Action News at Noon and created a glass pumpkin.

The Corning Museum is a not-for-profit museum. It was founded in 1951 and contains 3,500 years of history in its glass collection galleries.

Adult admission is $15.00. Kids and teens, 19 and under, receive free admission to the museum.

There are Thanksgiving break activities at the CMOG, including You Design It; We Make It! at the Hot Glass Show, gallery hunts, and more.

The GlassMarket's After-Thanksgiving Sale will be held Friday, Nov. 29 through Monday, Dec. 1.

Your last chance to create a colorful glass pumpkin is approaching! The Make Your Own Glass experience is offered through December 1. It is a 40-minute event and appropriate for all ages.

This season, you can also create colorful glass ornaments including a snowman and Victorian ornament during another 40-minute Make Your Own Glass experience.

The Museum has life-size glass snowmen and a giant glass ornament tree, which is 14 feet tall with more than 1,200 glass ornaments. You can get your picture taken with the exhibits which are on display through Jan. 5, 2014.

You can go on a "Winter Wonders Hunt" where you search the museum's galleries for holly, stars and more.
